Operator expands further into CEECA with official launch of Rizk brand into Balkan market

Betsson has acquired a Serbian licence, allowing it to officially launch its Rizk brand in the market.
The operator’s further expansion in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA) comes on the back of figures showing 43% of the group’s revenue in Q2 2023 came from the region.
Betsson has launched its Rizk brand on the rizk.hr domain, with online casino the only vertical available.
Betsson added the Rizk brand to its portfolio in 2020 after acquiring Zecure Gaming.
Andrew Valenzia, commercial director for Betsson’s subsidiary Zecure Gaming, said he was pleased with the company’s expansion into Serbia and praised the work behind the scenes that enabled this “achievement” to come to fruition.
Valenzia said: “Serbia is an exciting new market for our brand, Rizk. We’re eager to replicate our successes in other markets as we see tremendous potential and opportunities awaiting us there. Our team’s dedication and hard work have been key drivers of our achievements, and we’re prepared to bring the same level of energy to Serbia.”
Ronni Hartvig, chief commercial officer of Betsson Group, said the revitalisation of the Rizk brand over the past few years has “impressed” him, as he looks forward to what it can accomplish in a new market.
Hartvig added: “When I look at the performance of Zecure Gaming over the past years, I am genuinely impressed with the team’s outstanding achievements.
“They have revitalised the essence of the Rizk brand, rekindling its inherent fun and excitement, and expertly applied their knowledge to multiple markets. I look forward to seeing what they will manage to achieve in this new market.”
Betsson renewed its Rizk licence in Germany in 2022, going live in the market in June 2023.
