BetMGM links up with Liv Hospitality in South Dakota
Exclusive deal means New Jersey-headquartered operator will bring retail and on-site mobile sports wagering to two properties

BetMGM has signed an exclusive partnership with Liv Hospitality’s Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort and Cadillac Jack’s Gaming Resort to roll out retail and mobile sports betting in Deadwood, South Dakota.
Pending regulatory approval, the mobile app will be available within both properties to complement a BetMGM Sportsbook with kiosks and counter wagering.
The launch is slated for September to coincide with the start of the new NFL season.
Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO, said: “Liv Hospitality’s prime resort locations in Deadwood make it an ideal partner for us.
“Together, we look forward to bringing the BetMGM sports betting experience to South Dakota sports fans.”
Meanwhile, Liv Hospitality CEO Caleb Arceneaux said: “BetMGM is an outstanding organization that brings credibility to our new sports betting offerings.
“Visitors now have another reason to come to Deadwood, while enjoying the many other entertainment opportunities at our resorts.”
The Deadwood Sports Betting Legalization Amendment was given the thumbs up by voters last November, thereby authorizing South Dakota State Legislature to legalize sports betting within the city.
However, the activity is limited to brick-and-mortar gambling properties in Deadwood and tribal reservations.
Neighboring state Iowa boasts state-wide mobile wagering, as will Wyoming when it launches there soon, which could put South Dakota at a disadvantage.
Last week, BetMGM posted net gaming revenue of $357m in H1, a 19% rise quarter on quarter, and said it had a 22% slice of sports betting nationwide.
