Betclic unveils new creative TV ad campaign for Polish market
‘Betting since forever’ short pits two friends and rivals against each other throughout history to prove that “betting is something natural”

Betclic’s Polish-facing subsidiary has launched a new multi-channel marketing campaign called ‘Betting since forever’.
The TV ad short casts a humorous look back at human history as several re-enactments play out to prove that people have been placing bets against each other since the dawn of time.
For example, the clip begins with two cavemen wagering their sea shells on whether the volcano god will be merciful.
Three further scenes play out through the years before the ad ends with two friends watching Bayern Munich versus Borussia Dortmund in their living room while betting on their mobiles.
“The common betting narrative is always associated with sports,” said Betclic Poland country manager Bartłomiej Płoskonka.
“We figured stepping outside would allow us to stand out. That is why we were looking for an idea that would push us into new directions.
“We wanted to show that online sports betting is an everyday activity. Of course, many are motivated by the appeal of winning money with a few clicks, but betting also allows people to experience emotions and be part of a larger community,” he added.
The idea was conjured up by Warsaw-based creative agency 180heartbeats + JUNG v MATT, which is responsible for Betclic’s overall creative account after winning the latest tender process.
The spot was produced by F25 Production House, while media was planned and bought by Star Media. Xantus managed postproduction and the film was directed by Maciej Kowalczuk.
“Proposing the idea, we wanted to remind people that betting is something natural,” said Michał Sęk, creative director at 180heartbeats + Jung v Matt.
“Humankind has rivalry in its blood, and therefore betting. We were doing it before money was invented.
“Often, it’s not about material winnings, but a sense of commitment to what we care about. In our campaign, we told the story of betting from the perspective of two friends.
“Regardless of the era, they both compete through betting while having fun at the same time,” he added.
