Bet365 unveils in-house technology academy
Operator giant to offer 10 applicants support and training to develop skills across software testing in the gambling industry

Bet365 has launched a new technology academy as it looks to build out its in-house tech staff in a far-reaching programme.
The bet365 Software Testing Academy, which will be managed by the operator’s Hillside Technology arm, will provide training to an initial tranche of 10 recruits across a wide range of skills.
The 10 academy members will be trained across a breadth of roles, with the recruits working towards becoming certified testers.
The trainees will initially enter a training programme supported by mentors from the testing team, which will cover the fundamentals of software testing, before exploring more specific topics.
After this training period, recruits will be placed into a testing team, where they will embark on internal and external training courses.
The academy will be run from bet365’s Stoke-on-Trent headquarters, with the programme selecting the initial 10 applicants based on communication, attention to detail, prioritisation, knowledge retention and analytical skills.
Kamal Kaaba, Hillside Technology CEO, said the programme would allow those who had previously been discouraged from a tech career to get a foot on the ladder.
Kaaba said: “If you’re interested in technology, struggling to break into the industry, or looking for work that utilises your analytical, organisational and communication skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career.
“By focusing on the desired core competencies of a tester, as opposed to recent or previous career experience, we hope to create a recruitment programme that offers those possessing the right skills an opportunity to apply for a role that otherwise they might have thought unachievable or not considered,” he added.
