Bet365 imitates Paddy Power with football early payout offer
New ‘2 Goals Ahead’ promo likely to have a minimal impact on margin, according to industry sources

Bet365 has launched a new football offer that pays out early on a customer’s bet should the team they’ve backed go two goals clear.
The ‘2 Goals Ahead Early Payout Offer’ mimics Paddy Powers ‘2 Up’ promotion, which has been running throughout the 2016-17 football season.
The 365 offer applies to pre-match singles on the Full Time Result market on games from the Premier League, La Liga, Champions League or Europa League.
Bet365 appears to be introducing the offer on a trial basis, telling customers it is valid from 11 May through the Champions League final on 3 June – the last major match this season.
Despite the apparent generosity of the offer, one industry sportsbook source said it would potentially have a less than a 1% hit on margin over a season, and could even be a net positive for revenues when accounting for factors like winnings being recycled in-play and improved churn.
The offer appears to have been a success at Paddys, where it has been running for the majority of the season and was extended to this year’s 6 Nations rugby tournament.
“I wouldn’t be surprised to see this copied widely,” the source added. ” Although perhaps on the major leagues only.”
