Bet365 head of editorial departs after three years
James Clark confirms his exit from privately owned giant after playing a key role in building up the operator’s in-house news and content division

Bet365’s head of editorial content, James Clark, has left the online operator after a three-year stint leading its content arm.
The former ITV producer will depart the Stoke-on-Trent-based firm three years after he first arrived as sports and betting news manager in January 2022.
In that position, Clark was tasked with building out the firm’s editorial division from scratch following an overhaul of its content sites to deliver an “ultra-modern” offering.
Clark held that title for just over a year before he was promoted to the role of head of editorial content, responsible for all of bet365’s content strategies and operations worldwide, reporting into the C-suite in the process.
As part of his promotion, Clark relocated from Stoke-on-Trent to the family-owned operator’s Gibraltar offices.
As head of editorial content, Clark was also responsible for SEO and video content across 15 countries and languages.
Prior to his arrival at bet365 in 2022, Clark spent nine-and-a-half years with ITV between August 2012 and January 2022, where he held several titles, including sports reporter, programme producer and lead producer for all 2022 Commonwealth Games-related coverage.
Clark confirmed his exit via a statement on LinkedIn that read: “After three incredible years, I am leaving my role as head of editorial content at bet365. “Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has made my time at the company, both overseas and in the UK, so invaluable, enjoyable and memorable.
“It has been an absolute privilege to build the department, operation and strategy from scratch.
“The progress and achievements we have collectively made as a team across organic globally have made me exceptionally proud and it has been a real honour to lead such a talented team of individuals across four offices. Thank you for everything.
“I am extremely excited for what is next and to embark on a very special new opportunity,” he added.
In other bet365 news, the firm reported a 9% spike in revenue for the 53 weeks to the end of March 2024 while oddschecker reported the business took its 2024 clickshare crown on its odds matrix.
