Bet365 eats into Lottomatica’s sports betting lead in Italy
Online giant makes gains in July rankings despite lack of football season as it beats out Snaitech and Sisal into second place

Bet365 ate into Lottomatica’s online sports betting market share lead in July as the Stoke-on-Trent-based giant jumped two places in the rankings.
Bet365 finished July with gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €13.4m and a corresponding market share of 15.1%.
In June, this stood at GGR of €11.5m and a market share of 13%.
The improved performance was still not enough to topple Lottomatica from its leadership position after it posted GGR of €15.3m and a market share of 17.3%.
Coupled with its Betflag brand, which notched GGR of €927,000 and a market share of 1.1%, the Milan-listed firm remains out in front.
Having been beaten out by bet365 into second place, Snaitech slipped to fourth in July with GGR of €11m and a market share of 12.4%.
Flutter Entertainment-owned Sisal jumped to third with GGR of €11.6m and a market share 13.1%.
Elsewhere, SKS365 and Eurobet swapped places in July, with the former jumping into fifth with a 9% market share and GGR of €8m.
Eurobet was close behind after posting GGR of €7.8m and a market share of 8.8%.
Bet365 also strengthened its position as the leading operator when basing market share on turnover with 26.5%, ahead of closet challenger Lottomatica with 14.4%.
In terms of online casino, Lottomatica’s Goldbet brand remained dominant with GGR of €27.4m and market share of 14.9%.
While Betflag continues to make up the chasing pack in sports betting, its online casino performance continues to shine. The brand jumped one place up to fifth with GGR of €12.2m and a market share of 6.6%.
Sisal remained in second place after ending July with GGR of €15.5m and a market share of 8.5%.
Snaitech, PokerStars and 888 made up the remainder of the top six in the vertical.
