
Bet365 dominates Italian sports betting in early 2019
Stoke-headquartered operator leads market share rankings for February as Marathonbet continues to struggle


Bet365 has dominated the rankings for Italian online sports betting in the first two months of 2019 as February gross gaming revenue (GGR) hit €11.2m.
The Stoke-headquartered operator boasted a 16.2% share of GGR, ahead of nearest challenger SKS365 (14%).
SKS365 revenues reached €9.7m in February while Snaitech (€7.3m), Eurobet (€6.8m) and Sisal (€5.6m) rounded out the top five.
Bet365 also topped the rankings for turnover last month after taking in €169m, almost three times the amount of second-placed SKS365 (€57m), with 365 working on a margin of 7% compared to 17% for SKS.
The company enjoyed 28.4% of market share as percentage of turnover in February, once again ahead of SKS365 (9.6%), Eurobet (9.3%), Snaitech (8.9%) and Sisal (7%).
Marathonbet continued to struggle in the Italian online betting market and is the only operator to have made a loss with negative GGR in both January (-€21,000) and February (-€100,000).
Marathonbet, sponsors of Serie A side Lazio, was also the only operator with a negative margin for the opening two months of 2019.
