
BCLC egaming revenues top $110m in FY15
British Columbia Lottery Corp reports a 20% increase in revenues from its PlayNow.ca RMG site
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) posted a 20% year on year increase in egaming revenues for the 12 months ended March 2015, according to the latest figures released by the Canadian lottery operator. [private]
Revenues from its real-money PlayNow.ca offering increased from CA$91m in 2013-14 to $109.1m for its financial year 2014/15, ahead of the $97.1m it had budgeted.
BCLC also confirmed that PlayNow.ca, which offers online lottery ticket sales plus a selection of casino, poker, sports betting and bingo games, had more than 360,000 registered users.
The operator highlighted the launch of novelty betting and an expansion of its casino portfolio during the period with 19 new slots and poke games for smartphone and tablet users.
Back in January the operator expanded its deal with its sportsbook platform provider OpenBet in a bid to drive more land-based players online.
BCLC reported total revenues of $2.9b for the period leading to its highest ever net income of $1.3bn.
