Australian gambling law firm Senet lands ex-Tabcorp deputy general counsel
Bree Ryan joins specialist firm to advise clients on wagering, racing and media

Former Sportsbet and Tabcorp counsel Bree Ryan has joined Australian gambling law firm Senet as a senior associate.
In her role, Ryan will be leading the legal practice alongside gambling experts Julian Hoskins and Daniel Lovecek who are both highly experienced in gambling-related law and regulation.
A specialist in the gambling and regulatory sphere, Ryan joins Senet after two years working part-time as general counsel at Warrnambool City Council.
Ryan spent more than two years at Tabcorp from October 2018 until November 2020 as deputy general counsel.
Prior to joining Tabcorp, Ryan spent four years at fellow Australian operator Sportsbet as senior corporate counsel.
Ryan will be client-facing, assisting in navigating legal and regulatory matters with a particular focus on wagering, racing and media.
In joining Senet, Ryan is reunited with Lovecek after the pair worked together during their time at Tabcorp.
Speaking about Ryan’s appointment, Hoskins said: “Our gambling law and compliance advisory practice is one of the largest and most experienced in Australia. Bree’s expertise will complement the team and provide increased capabilities to support our clients with their gambling law and regulation-related matters.
“Bree also brings a strong network of connections with domestic and international operators active in the Australian market.”
