ANJ and LFP join forces in new sports betting awareness campaign
The regulator comes together with the French football association to try to put an end to the cyberbullying of players, managers and officials

The French National Gaming Authority (ANJ) and the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) have joined forces to produce a video campaign to try to protect members of the LFP from bullying.
Using the hashtag #ParierSansClasher, the film is designed to be visually shocking and absurd in nature. Produced by the Mutant Agency using 3D and with a video game aesthetic, the film shows match sequences taken from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches.
The excerpts are meant to show the usual characteristics of a football match but with the unusual caveat of the players’ bodies missing, using filters to create an “invisible man” effect.
In the background of the video, commentators can be heard describing the action, but rather than using footballing terms, they use sports betting terms instead. The video concludes with the message “quand tu paries, n’oublie pas qu’il y a un humain derriere le maillot”, which translates to ‘when you bet, don’t forget there’s a human behind the jersey’.
The point of the video is to remind bettors that there is a person behind the shirt, and that insults people post online behind the safety of a screen can have real and sometimes severe consequences for players, coaches and referees.
The video will go live today across the social networks of the LFP and the ANJ and is the first part of the new partnership between the two organisations.
