Amaya completes rebrand to The Stars Group
PokerStars-parent company says new name better reflects the “the modern nature of the company”

PokerStars-parent company Amaya has completed its rebrand to The Stars Group and moved its head office from Montreal to Toronto, the firm announced Tuesday.
The group also began trading under the ticker symbol “TSG” on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and “TSGI” on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The change also sees The Stars Group become an Ontario corporation, after moving its head office from Montreal to Toronto.
In connection with the name change, The Stars Group also adopted a new corporate logo and will launch a new website at www.starsgroup.com.
The name change, first announced back in March were described by executives as way to “better reflect the modern nature of the company”, although analysts suggested it was also a way for the firm to disassociate itself from David Baazov, who has been selling off large chunks of his shares.
The operator will announce its Q2 results next Wednesday, after reporting a 10% rise in Q1 revenues to $317m.
