Allwyn announces swathe of board changes ahead of UK National Lottery tenure
Lord Sebastian Coe and Simon Burke join the operator as non-executive directors with Sir Keith Mills stepping down

Allwyn has announced changes to its UK board ahead of its tenure as licence holders of the UK National Lottery, which begins on 1 February 2024.
Sir Keith Mills, the senior independent non-executive director on Allwyn UK’s board, who played a major role in Allwyn’s bid team to win the fourth National Lottery licence, will step down from the board at the end of this month, 31 January.
Sir Mills will remain chair of the board at Camelot UK until June and will depart once the results for its last year as operator of the third National Lottery licence have been confirmed. He will continue to assist Allwyn in an advisory capacity once he departs the board.
Lord Sebastian Coe and Simon Burke will take on the roles of senior independent non-executive director and independent non-executive director, respectively. Burke will also take on the position of chair of the audit committee.
Lord Coe and Burke are currently non-executive directors at Camelot UK but Lord Coe will step down from that role at the end of January. Burke will remain on the Camelot board alongside Sir Mills until after the final results of the third lottery licence are known.
Justin King, chair of Allwyn UK, commented: “Allwyn has benefited enormously from Sir Keith’s considerable experience and expertise.
“He leaves with our sincere thanks. I am delighted to welcome Seb and Simon to the Allwyn board; they are great additions who will bring valuable continuity in board level oversight of The National Lottery between the third and fourth licences.”
Yesterday, 11 January, Allwyn appointed music industry veteran Steve Parkinson as its brand and marketing director.
Parkinson joins the firm from Bauer Media, where he held several senior marketing and business leadership roles across his 16-year stay, including as head of strategic partnerships and events.
