Acroud moves for ex-Catena Media head as CMO
Liam Benton swaps XLMedia for Acroud as he heads to C-level position for first time

Acroud has appointed former XLMedia and Catena Media head Liam Benton as its new chief marketing officer (CMO).
Benton joins the affiliate from AIM-listed XLMedia after 21 months with the firm.
Benton originally joined XLMedia as brand lead in November 2021 before shifting to become head of innovation and delivery in February 2023.
He previously served as Catena Media’s head of social media for sportsbook between February 2018 and December 2019.
Benton also co-founded affiliate site SBAT back in January 2015 which was eventually snapped up by Catena Media in October 2016.
Speaking on his appointment, Benton said: “I’m delighted to become part of the Acroud team during this exciting period as we look to venture into new markets while building our team and presence in the gambling and publishing world.
“With all new beginnings there must be endings, and I leave behind a fantastic team of people at XLMedia where I believe we achieved great things over the last 20 months in the EU market,” he added.
Benton becomes the latest head to join Acroud’s C-suite after financial controller Tricia Vella was promoted to CFO in April.
Acroud finished in 17th place in this year’s EGR Power Affiliates rankings.
