888sport strikes deal with German club RB Leipzig
Operator to become title sponsor of club’s predictor game which hands out money-can’t-buy prizes

888sport has made its first foray into German football by inking a two-year partnership deal with Bundesliga heavyweights RB Leipzig.
The deal, which is set to run until at least 2023, will have its first activation this weekend as Leipzig take on FSV Mainz 05 and will be primarily focused on the club’s digital platforms.
888sport will become the title sponsor of RB Leipzig’s pre-match predictor game which provides money-can’t-buy prizes to fans including signed shirt and VIP tickets to home games.
The deal, which sees 888sport become an official partner, comes four months after parent company 888 Holdings decided to shift its focus to sports betting in the regulated online German market.
It comes after a number of operators railed against the country’s 5.3% turnover tax on online poker and slots games.
In November, the Bremen senator called for an advertising ban to be applied to sports betting however, this suggestion was slammed by the German Sports Betting Association.
