888 to roll out first BetBright-powered sportsbook in Q1 2020
Operator will initially launch new product in Sweden ahead of a phased roll-out to other markets

888 plans to launch its first sportsbook product on the BetBright platform in Sweden in Q1 2020, the operator has confirmed.
The operator began the integration of the BetBright sportsbook technology into its wider platform back in March, and said it would begin the phased roll-out of the new sportsbook early next year, with multiple markets set to be migrated onto the platform during 2020.
The new version of 888 Sport will feature several BetBright features including BetFinder, to help racing punters identify bets, as well as a recommendation engine that highlights what other users are betting on.
888 has set itself an ambitious target of doubling its sportsbook revenues, which are already close to $100m.
“Sport is global and it is very competitive,” said 888’s VP of sports, Yuval Benyamini, at the operator’s Capital Markets Day last week.
“There are giants around us, but we want to double our business and be a top-tier operator. We are confident and excited.”
Benyamini said the operator would also benefit from bringing trading in-house for the first time.
“It’s no secret that on the Kambi platform we had limited ability to influence trading,” Benyamini said. “We did it on occasion but it’s not the same as having trading in-house. And we know trading is another arm of marketing, so now we have this in-house we will have many more real time trading promotions,” Benyamini added.
888’s existing sportsbook platform contract with Kambi expires in 2021.
888 last week revealed a 29% increase in revenues from its sports betting business together with a 13% increase in its online casino revenues for the period from 1 January to 18 May.
