888 taps ex-Superbet head as new CFO
Sean Wilkins to join firm in February, with chief strategy officer Vaughan Lewis to serve in the interim period following Yariv Dafna’s departure in October

888 has named former Superbet exec Sean Wilkins as the group’s new chief financial officer (CFO).
Wilkins will join the Gibraltar-headquartered firm in February 2024 as the operator continues to reshape its senior leadership team.
Wilkins will join incoming CEO Per Widerström, who will assume his role on 16 October.
Wilkins is set to replace Yariv Dafna, who will step down on 2 October. Chief strategy officer Vaughan Lewis will serve as interim CFO until Wilkins joins the group.
Dafna had previously planned to leave the business in March but agreed to remain in the post until later in the year.
Wilkins joins the operator after departing from Romanian operator Superbet where he served as CFO since January 2022.
The financial exec previously held senior positions with Tesco, Australian retailer Coles and Domino’s.
Speaking on his appointment, Wilkins said: “Having worked in the regulated online betting and gaming industry over recent years, I have followed 888 closely.
“Following its transformational acquisition of William Hill, the group has all the ingredients for long-term success: outstanding brands, technology and people.
“The board has set out very clear plans to create significant shareholder value and I am really looking forward to being part of the leadership team to deliver these plans and achieve the group’s clear potential,” he added.
Lord Mendelsohn, 888 executive chair, took the opportunity to thank the outgoing Dafna for his contribution to the business.
He said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Yariv for his important contributions to the business in the last three years, including playing a crucial role in the completion of our transformational combination with William Hill and the successful integration of the businesses, and also for providing stability in the role of CFO over recent months while we searched for a permanent successor. We wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
