Phil Walker nets new position following completion of acquisition as he moves to head up UK and Ireland operations

888 has named William Hill UK managing director (MD) Phil Walker as the new UK and Ireland MD of the combined business.
Walker will transition to his new position following the completion of the £1.95bn acquisition of William Hill International by 888 Holdings.
Walker previously spent the last four years with Hills.
He originally joined the bookmaker in January 2019 as its online MD before being named UK MD in September 2020.
Walker previously spent more than two years with Ladbrokes Coral as its chief marketing officer and the MD of sports.
He cut his teeth in the industry with a near-five-year spell at Gala Interactive between January 2010 and November 2014.
Walker becomes the latest William Hill head to be shifted into a new role following the acquisition.
In November, 888 brought Michael Sheehan across from Hills, where he had been serving as marketing strategy and planning director, to become VP of marketing for 888sport.
Elsewhere, in December, 888 named Anna Barsby as its new chief product and technology officer.
