888 looks to experience with new chief product and technology officer
Former Morrisons and Halfords executive Anna Barsby links up with London-listed operator to lead product and tech output

888 has confirmed the hire of Anna Barsby as its new chief product and technology officer.
Founding her own management consultancy business, Tessiant, in February 2020, Barsby has also worked in IT and infrastructure development roles for UK brands including Morrisons, Halfords, travel firm Tui as well as UK brewery chain Whitbread.
Barsby also currently serves as a non-executive director at Cumberland Building Society.
Fresh from its Capital Markets Day last week, the London-listed operator revealed the hire, which comes as 888 looks to further integrate the William Hill business into its wider igaming and sports betting empire.
In her new role as both CPO and CTO, Barsby will play a key part in this process, as the group looks to reach its financial target of £2bn in revenue by 2025.
888 has planned to achieve this target by building scalability into the now enlarged group’s operating model by using the unified proprietary tech to drive a higher profit margin.
The firm has also set its sights on achieving an adjusted earnings per share of at least 35p by focusing on core equity growth drivers to deliver these benefits.
888 CEO Itai Pazner welcomed the hire of Barsby as an important step in the post-acquisition and wider integration of William Hill into the business.
“We are delighted to welcome Anna to our new executive leadership team, where she will play a pivotal role in driving forward the key area of technology integration as part of our transformational combination with William Hill,” Pazner said.
“Her significant experience and expertise will be invaluable as we seek to unlock the significant potential of our two highly complementary businesses, and we very much look forward to working with her,” he added.
