888 goes live on new Spectate platform in Sweden
London-listed operator unveils first B2C sportsbook product built on the former BetBright technology

888 has launched its proprietary Spectate technology platform for the first time after going live in Sweden.
The 888.se website is the first to be powered by the former BetBright technology stack, which now comes under the 888spectate umbrella.
The 888spectate technology team are based out of Heather House in Dublin.
The revamped sportsbook is live in Sweden, following a 12-month integration process, and is now capable of aligning sports product with trading and marketing, according to the firm.

“This is a fantastic achievement which combined the efforts of many of our teams,” Guy Cohen, SVP, head of B2C at 888, told EGR Intel.
“The launch in Sweden represents a key milestone in our journey to design, deliver and build a sportsbook that provides a best-in-class user experience to our customers and power 888sport’s future growth,” he added.
888 is now working on additional features and functionality for the platform as it prepares to migrate Spectate into the UK and .com markets later in 2020.
Product tweaks on the new platform include a homepage populated with the customer’s favourite sport, real-time recommendations based on bet slips and the bet-building BetFinder tool.

The revamped 888.se site for mobile
The new sportsbook site has launched at a difficult time for sports betting operators after the coronavirus pandemic halted the global sporting calendar in its tracks.
888 issued a strong trading update in March despite the blackout and has not yet wavered on its ambitious target to double sportsbook revenues, which are already close to $100m.
“While it is unclear how Covid-19 will evolve over the coming months, our ambitious targets to grow our revenues haven’t changed,” Cohen told EGR.
“As has been well documented, the whole industry is seeing a decrease in sports activity due to the cancellation of sports events.
“888 is an online operator with diversified brands across product verticals and geographies, and is well positioned to manage these challenges,” he added.
