888 director steps down after 12 years
Doron Ziony to leave the multi-brand operator after more than a decade across multiple poker-focused roles

888’s director and head of 888poker business development, Doron Ziony, has announced his departure after 12 years.
Ziony joined the London-listed operator in September 2010 as a poker room manager.
He was then promoted to live events, online shop and ambassadors manager in May 2014, a role he held for eight years.
During that time, Ziony was made head of live events and partners.
In May 2022, he became head of 888poker business development before finally taking on a director role at 888 in December 2022.
In a post on LinkedIn, Ziony was full of praise for his colleagues and for what the company achieved during his time at 888poker.
Ziony wrote: “Almost a quarter of my life I worked at 888poker, and today was my last day at the office.
“I had the honour and the privilege of building the 888LIVE circuit from ‘scratch’, which over the years, has become one of the prestige live events series in Europe and attracted the biggest poker players in the world.
“A big thank you goes to all the friends I have gained over the years; some of them are 888 employees, and some of them are from the global gaming industry – friends who become real partners and friends for life.”
Ziony’s departure follows that of CEO Itai Pazner who left suddenly in January 2023 amid compliance issues involving players in the Middle East.
888 was recently been removed from both the FTSE 250 and FTSE 350 by compilers at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) as part of a quarterly review of the indices.
