Sisal wins contract to manage sports betting offering in Morocco
Flutter-owned firm adds fixed-odds betting to its lottery licence in the North African country

Italian operator Sisal has been awarded the sports betting concession licence by Morocco’s state-run lottery, La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS).
The Flutter-owned brand lands an eight-year deal to provide fixed-odds and totalisator sports betting in Morocco, with an option to extend the partnership for a further two years. Alongside Sisal’s contract win in Tunisia, it marks Flutter Entertainment’s first licensed exposure to the African sports betting market.
The latest agreement between the Italy-headquartered firm and MDJS is set to start on 1 January 2024 and management of the partnership will be through the newly formed Sisal Jeux Maroc, which was established as a collaboration between Paddy Power and Sisal.
Marco Caccavale, CEO of Sisal Jeux Maroc and international managing director of Sisal, said: “We are extremely pleased to announce the consolidation of our offering in Morocco.
“The decision by MDJS is testament to the quality of our work and how much we have achieved in the last three years, in a country with a strong growth trajectory and great potential.
“This is our fourth successful international tender, all of which have been highly competitive, recognising the commitment, investment and know-how that make us unique in the market. Being part of Flutter enhances our value proposition and enables us to develop joint products and services for different market segments,” he added.
In September 2022, Sisal was awarded a 10-year tender to provide sports betting, number games and lotteries in Tunisia through Promosport.
