188BET converts Super League sponsorship deal
Asian operator increases UK presence with agreement to become Wigan Warriorsâ official club sponsor
188BET has sealed a deal to become the official sponsor of rugby league club Wigan Warriors as the Asian operator continues to ramp-up its visibility in the UK market.
The deal, which will last for the duration of the 2016 season, will include a number of branding opportunities and see the 188BET logo emblazoned on the front of the Wigan Warriors’ shirts.
188BET takes on the Wigan Warriors deal from previous sponsors Coral and comes as the Manila-headquartered firm looks to gain a foothold in the UK market.
The operator recently appointed former BetVictor and Coral marketing chief Karl Riley to head-up its UK push and has since moved into new central London offices as part of its expansion plans.
âThe opportunity to sponsor a leading rugby team with the history, heritage and standing of the Wigan club was just too good to pass up,â Nigel Singer, 188BET managing director, said.
âAs we continue to grow the profile of 188BET in the UK, we will do everything to ensure that our relationship with the Warriors is rewarding to both parties,â he added.
188BET is owned by Cube Limited, which is licensed and regulated by the Isle of Man and Great Britainâs Gambling Commission.
