10bet set to launch in South Africa
Sports betting operator to continue its phased entry into Africa as CEO explains rationale behind launch.

Sports betting operator 10bet is set to launch in South Africa, which marks the fifth African market entry for the operator.
10bet is currently live in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia, with this move into South Africa highlighting the operator’s commitment to “expanding further into Africa, one country at a time”.
The firm explained that it would offer sports bettors access to more than 2,000 markets across 25,000 events each month, which include the English Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.
As well as sports betting, 10bet also offers players access to its casino games portfolio, including titles from Evolution, NetEnt and Yggdrasil.
Speaking to EGR, 10bet CEO Arthur Perry lifted the lid on the operator’s plans for South Africa.
Perry revealed 10bet will replicate its local sponsorship portfolio that it has actioned already in Africa with plans to partner with South African sports teams to drive brand recognition.
He also confirmed 10bet would build out a local team to capitalise on employee diversity.
Touching on the importance of approaching African markets with a fresh approach, Perry said: “Rolling out our product and market strategy took a lot of effort in development and overcoming local challenges. We’ve invested a lot in R&D to develop our product and offering across the different markets and built robust local partnerships.
“We know how important localisation is to commercial growth and this is one of the key aspects we’re really focusing on. We have local hubs in every African market we operate in with and a regional headquarters in South Africa.
“We had to tailor our product and offering with a mobile-only strategy to suit also low-tech mobile phones and SMS betting, but also keep the engaging functionalities despite the region’s data challenges,” he added.
