Slots Tracker: Play’n GO remains title to beat after fourth month in top spot
Book of Dead continues dominance while Pragmatic Play moves to snap up rankings share

Play’n GO’s Book of Dead remains the title to beat after finishing in first place in the iGaming Tracker rankings for a fourth consecutive month.
Starburst by NetEnt retained its silver medal position and remains the closest challenger to Book of Dead in the battle for the top spot.
Big Bass Bonanza by Pragmatic Play jumped one place into third to sneak a podium finish after displacing stablemate Sweet Bonanza in September, which slipped into fourth.
Pragmatic Play ensured it took the lion’s share of the top five places with its Gates of Olympus title rounding out the pack.
There were two new entries in the September rankings as Pragmatic Play’s Book of Golden Sands finished in 12th and Gameburger Studios’ Fishin’ Bigger Pots of Gold came in 16th.
Red Tiger’s 10,001 Night Megaways was the highest-ranking title from August (10th) to fall out of the rankings completely.
The iGaming Tracker also detailed the top-ranking new slots released in August and September.
Book of Golden Sands by Pragmatic Play finished in the top spot of the rankings for new games, following its 1 September release.
Gameburger Studios’ Fishin’ Bigger Pots of Gold came second while Light & Wonder – Elk Studios’ Buffalo Toro ended in third place, having been released on 1 September and 27 August, respectively.
The game with the latest release date to secure a spot in the top 20 was Wild Hop & Drop by Pragmatic Play (8 September) after finishing in 19th place.
The iGaming Tracker has changed its methodology of data collection and grading of games since October 2020 to give a fairer and broader reflection of the rankings.
Games are ranked by their position throughout the month on 467 of the largest regulated online casino sites in Europe. Only the ‘main’ page of the casinos is taken into account and the top 10 most prominent positions on those pages.
The previous number of sites the iGaming Tracker took into account was just 50.
The iGaming Tracker compiles the slots rankings by tracking casino sites across 24 regulated European countries including the UK, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Norway and Denmark.
Each casino page is tracked every day over the month as well as which game occupies each position. Each position is weighted so the top positions on the page have a higher weighting than those on the bottom of the page.
Likewise, the pages, sites and countries are weighted to give a fairer view on the success of casino games.
Table games such as roulette and blackjack are excluded from the rankings, as are live casino games.
