Starburst continues strong run as Pragmatic Play games slip away and new titles edge towards the top of the pile

NetEnt’s Starburst continues to be the title to beat after finishing off the summer with an eighth consecutive top spot finish.
The game once again held off the challenge of the Pragmatic Play pack to net the gold medal.
Previously, perennial challenger Book of Dead by Play’n GO remained in third.
Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Bonanza remained in second while stablemate Sweet Bonanza jumped from fifth to fourth, switching positions with Big Bass Splash.
In terms of biggest movers, NetEnt’s Blood Suckers leapt from 35th in July to 19th in August.
Blueprint Gaming’s Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch, previously in 14th place, was the highest-ranking title from July to fall out of the rankings.
Elsewhere, data also revealed the top-ranking new slots released since 1 June 2023.
Reel Kingdom’s Big Bass Amazon Xtreme took top spot in August following its 19 June release.
SpinPlay Games’ Action Boost Gladiator (10 August release) and Amazing Catch by Just For The Win (1 August release) took the silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the new games rankings.
Pragmatic Play’s Pub Kings and Gameburger Studios’ Fishin’ Pots of Gold: Gold Blitz were the titles with the latest release dates (22 August) to secure a spot in the top 20.
In January 2023, EGR added a new data partner, eGaming Monitor (EGM), to track casino sites and help collate the monthly rankings.
EGM tracks game pages of more than 2,400 casino sites globally, with the European charts being based on the number of game tiles found for each game across operator sites in regulated markets.
EGM limits its tracking to just the main casino homepage of each site, with the tracker taking in slots, instants, scratch cards, slingo and crash games but excluding table games, live games, video poker, video bingo and others.
In August, EGM tracked 12,953 games from 368 studios in 29 European regulated markets including the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands.
