Slots Tracker: January carries on from 2021 with top-three US slots solidifying podium places
2022’s expanded US slots rankings begin with SG Digital and Evolution bringing their slots war to the remaining top-10 places
January’s EGR US Slots Tracker rankings saw no change in the top-three placed US slots, with games 88 Fortunes, Divine Fortune and Cleopatra holding on strong for the start of 2022.
IGT’s Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin prolonged its stay in the top 10, rising to fourth place, while Evolution’s Bonanza slot and SG Digital’s Jin Ji Bao Xi Endless Treasure each rose three places in the rankings to fifth place and sixth place respectively.
Dancing Drums Explosion, SG Digital’s third slot in the top 10, was the only one unchanged from its December rankings position, maintaining its seventh place in January.
Evolution’s Starburst slot and IGT’s Fortune Coin both enjoyed a good start to 2022, rising to eighth and ninth position respectively, while December’s fourth placed slot, Evolution’s Fruit Shop Christmas, plummeted six places to 10th position.
Evolution, IGT and SG Digital have locked out all 10 positions in the rankings, with Everi’s Cash Machine slot marking its re-entry to the rankings in January with an 11th placed finish.
As with the top-10 tussle, positions 12-20 also changed during January, with only IGT’s Da Vinci Diamonds maintaining its 14th position in December during the first month of 2022.
Everi’s Ice Opals and Evolution’s Extra Chilli both re-entered the top 20 with a whimper, sealing 18th and 20th position respectively, while January’s sole new entrant ReelPlay’s Hypernova Megaways could only manage a paltry 16th position.
A total of 31 sites were scrutinized as part of the January tri-state sample, including 152 webpages and 1,107 games.
Games are ranked by their position throughout the month across all online casino sites in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Only the ‘main’ page of the casinos is taken into account, and the top 20 most prominent positions on those pages.
The ranking is calculated as the total number of hours the game was in the top 20 positions throughout the month. Each casino page is tracked at least once every 24 hours. Table games such as roulette and blackjack are excluded from the rankings, as are live casino games.
