Optimove iGaming Pulse Report September 2024: NFL kick-off drives reactivation surge
In this month's column, Optimove's data shows global conversion and retention rates are all up MoM for sports betting

September has been a standout month for US sports betting KPIs, as revealed in Optimove Insights’ latest iGaming report.
Conversion rates (new player acquisition), new player retention, and overall retention all saw significant growth (see US chart below), with an impressive 90% increase in reactivation rates (compared to a +30% globally). Surprisingly, Canada led the way with a 120% surge in reactivations, while the UK and Germany saw a 10% drop, underscoring the influence of the NFL season.
The NFL’s kick off has clearly been the driving factor, activating new players, re-engaging dormant ones and bringing regular bettors back to the table. This data highlights the importance for US operators to craft bespoke, lifecycle-focused strategies to fully leverage this pivotal moment in the sports betting calendar.
