Optimove iGaming Pulse Report October 2024: US sports betting reactivation levels off
In this month's column, Optimove data shows the average bet amount per player rose 3.5% across sports and casino

Optimove Insights’ latest iGaming Pulse report shows the US sports betting reactivation rate returning to its typical level, dropping by 50% in October to 4.9%. This reactivation rate measures the percentage of previously inactive players who become active again within a month.
While it appears significant, the drop is actually a return to regular levels following the September spike caused by the NFL season kickoff, which boosted reactivation by 90% from August to 9.6%. In the US, reactivation rates usually peak in September, with the excitement of the new NFL season and again in November as playoff anticipation builds, while levelling out in between.
Operators should take note of these trends and develop targeted marketing strategies to capitalise on reactivation during these key months.
