
Oddschecker insights: Bet365 dons Masters’ green jacket as horseracing fave win-rate dips
Stoke-on-Trent-based firm continues dominance in Augusta clickshare while Grand National sees big increases on 2022

Oddschecker has reported significant rises on its platform during the 2023 Grand National, with increases across bets and users.
According to the group’s latest data, the site saw a 50% increase in bets placed during the 2023 race compared to 2022.
Additionally, app users increased by 25% year on year while views per session jumped from 1.6 to 2.2.

Breaking down the showpiece event , winner Corach Rambler was the most-clicked horse in the market with 9.7% of total clicks.
Corach Rambler became the first winning favourite of the race since Tiger Roll in 2019, while popular runners Delta Work, Le Milos and Mr Incredible failed to make the places to help benefit the bookmakers.
Away from Aintree, the horseracing favourite win-rate dropped to 34.2% in April, which makes the month the fourth-lowest share of favourite wins since July 2021.

Oddschecker noted that the restart of the flat season may be the cause for the dip, with operators getting to grips with accurate pricing given the lack of form.
Meanwhile, over in the US, the Masters in Augusta was won by Spaniard Jon Rahm, seeing bet365 net its own green jacket as it dominated the clickshare rankings.
The online giant topped Oddschecker’s Masters clickshare rankings for the fourth year running.
Elsewhere, Paddy Power jumped four places to come second in the Masters clickshare rankings while Unibet also gained four places to finish in fifth.

Sky Bet closed out the podium places, with William Hill finishing in fourth.
Looking at the monthly movers, 10bet recorded a bumper 219% increase in acquisition in April compared to March.
Additionally, Betfair netted a 5.3 percentage point jump in the rankings while bet365 secured a 2.9 percentage point increase in bet share.
