Juergen Reutter on the launch of his new Addison Global business
CEO Reutter talks to EGR Intel about how the new Gibraltar-based start-up is aiming to disrupt the online sports betting sector

EGR Intel: What is Addison Global and how does it differ to other online gambling companies in the market?
Juergen Reutter (JR): We are a new business established in Gibraltar with a very clear and strategic focus in delivering a differentiated and entertaining offering of online sports betting and casino. We are at a very early stage of our journey and we believe there is room for a challenger brand in providing product-driven customer experiences. We are offering an inspiring and collaborative working environment for our people in one of the most premium office spaces in Gibraltar which is helping us already disrupt the industry.
EGR Intel: How do you plan to use industry experience to stand out from the crowd?
JR: Starting a new business, we have the opportunity to design our service experience and build our working environment without any legacy component which allows us to ensure our customers as well as our employees are excited in what we are doing. There are a lot of valid best practices in this industry but on the other hand we see relevant ecommerce trends not served to its full extent.
We believe in a product-driven approach that is stretching the mobile boundaries and is serving a truly personalised experience which will deliver clear blue water from the common one-size-fits all and bonus-driven standard in the industry.
EGR Intel: Will you be predominantly focused on betting or also online gaming too?
JR: We will have a sports-led approach while also offering casino and gaming services.
EGR Intel: Why did you decide to base the firm in Gibraltar?
JR: We established in Gibraltar after a thorough analysis of various territories. Gibraltar is a highly regarded jurisdiction in the licensing of online gaming operations and has a sensible licensing and regulatory regime. Furthermore, Gibraltar has a very skilled talent pool in this industry.
EGR Intel: What markets will you be focused on? How close are you to obtaining a licence?
JR: We are at a very early stage of our journey and the licensing process is in progress for the jurisdictions we are considering to enter.
EGR Intel: How many people do you currently have working for you and in what roles are you focused on hiring for?
JR: We are currently in ramp up phase and have over 20 employees based locally. We are aiming for an initial footprint of around 70 employees in Gibraltar and will have outsourced services elsewhere. The Gibraltar business will encompass the entire operations, marketing, technology and finance teams.
The executive team’s experience in the industry, both in-house and as external advisers, reflects a pedigree which is highly unusual in a normal start-up scenario and this is because it is definitely not your average start-up. The team has more than 60 years of industry experience and is composed of former senior executives at William Hill, Ladbrokes/Hong Kong Jockey Club, GVC, Marathonbet as well as a partner at Hassans International Law firm.
