BetBuilder by Oddin.gg: the first industry tool for eSimulators
In this article, Oddin.gg discusses its latest product launch which offers “virtually unlimited” betting options across both virtual sports and esports

Esports betting is no longer just about picking a pre-match winner. It’s about immersing bettors in the action and letting them create bets that reflect their unique predictions on how they see the match unfolding. Bettors now want more control, more customisation and a deeper connection to the matches they follow.
Enter BetBuilder by Oddin.gg.
Launched in Q3 2024, BetBuilder is the first tool to offer virtually unlimited betting options across both eSimulators (also known as eSims) and esports. This new feature allows operators to engage bettors by giving them the ability to personalise their bets like never before, whether they’re betting on Counter-Strike 2 or eFootball.
With BetBuilder, the possibilities are almost endless, and it’s setting a new standard for the industry. At launch, it will offer 26 selections across 12 markets in eFootball, and up to 97 selections across 10 markets in Counter-Strike 2.
A first for eSimulators and a game-changer for bettors
“BetBuilders are all about building narratives and storylines,” explains Oddin.gg’s product manager Jan Suchomel, a former esports trader. “It allows bettors to create more complex betting opportunities, reflecting their vision of how the game will play out in a far more sophisticated way than just betting on team A or team B to win. Bettors feel a greater sense of choice and involvement when they build a bet that’s theirs.”
What truly sets BetBuilder apart, however, is that it is the first industry tool to bring this level of customisation to eSimulators such as eFootball. This groundbreaking feature lets bettors combine multiple selections within the same eSims match – an offering previously unavailable in the market.
“For the first time, bettors can personalise their wagers on eSimulators just as they do in traditional esports, opening up a completely new avenue for engaging with these titles,” Suchomel adds.
Of course, bet building is not an entirely new concept. Similar functionalities already exist in traditional sports betting, often referred to as ‘parlay bets’ or ‘accumulators’.
However, in more conventional sports, these bets typically involve multiple games or matches, whereas BetBuilder focuses on the intricacies of a single match, much like the single game parlays that have proliferated across the North American sports betting market in recent years.
Overcoming the challenges of esports
While BetBuilder shares similarities with other sports betting products, it also introduces specific challenges related to the nature of esports. Traditional sports such as football, tennis and basketball have well-established rules and relatively predictable outcomes, making it easier to calculate odds and combine bets.
However, esports involve thousands of data points in the blink of an eye. The fast-paced action and complex strategies require more sophisticated modelling to generate accurate odds.
Oddin.gg has developed advanced algorithms to handle these complexities. Unlike traditional parlay bets, which usually involve straightforward multiplication of individual odds, BetBuilder requires careful correlation management between different selections.
“The key difference in BetBuilder is that we need to account for the complex interrelations between different bets within the same match,” explains Suchomel. “This impacts whether the result is higher or lower, depending on those correlations.”
Developing a product like BetBuilder for esports also presents unique technological challenges. Esports titles vary widely in terms of gameplay mechanics and match dynamics, which means the models used to generate odds must be tailored to each game.
For example, more linear games such as Counter-Strike 2, where outcomes are straightforward, are easier to simulate and integrate into BetBuilder. However, more complex games like Dota 2, with their near limitless possibilities, require different approaches.
Oddin.gg’s solution for this involves using advanced algorithms to simulate match outcomes and calculate accurate probabilities, ensuring BetBuilder can handle the unique traits of each game.
What BetBuilder means for operators
For operators, the introduction of BetBuilder represents both an opportunity and a challenge. By offering bettors the ability to craft personalised bets, operators can enhance engagement and increase player retention. The product’s flexibility encourages longer interactions, as bettors stay invested throughout the match, exploring hundreds of thousands of possible bet combinations.
However, managing the risks associated with BetBuilder is not so straightforward, especially given the correlations between different selections within a single bet. This complexity means operators need to adopt more sophisticated risk management strategies to ensure they are not overexposed to certain outcomes.
According to Suchomel, Oddin.gg has integrated automated risk management tools into BetBuilder, automating much of the risk assessment process to reduce the burden on operators.
Educating bettors for success
While BetBuilder offers a deeper, more customisable betting experience, it also presents an educational challenge, particularly for those new to such complex betting options. While ordinary sports bettors may be familiar with similar products, esports bettors might need additional guidance to fully understand and utilise the tool.
“There’s a big difference between traditional sports and esports betting, and that’s the player base,” says Suchomel. “It’s important for operators to provide a great educational experience so bettors actually understand how BetBuilder works, what to expect from it and how to use it effectively.”
Preparing for the future
As BetBuilder moves forward, Suchomel stresses the need to familiarise both operators and bettors with the new functionality.
“We’re committed to helping our partners educate their player base about this exciting new functionality, how it’s used and what they can expect from it,” says Suchomel. “BetBuilder introduces a lot of new ways for bettors to engage, and its launch creates an opportunity to fuel excitement about esports betting to the operator’s clients, reaching from very seasoned bettors to newcomers.”
