In December, affiliate sites were rocked by a second Google “Helpful content update” which, at the time of writing, seemed less impactful that the first update in September 2022.
For the last month of 2022, bet365 rocketed to first place as the most trafficked sports betting brand in the affiliate channel, while Betrivers made its first appearance in the top five. This is a big change from the same brands that have been dominating the top five rankings for almost a year.
We also detected the biggest movements ever in New Jersey since our monitoring started two years ago.
December marked the fourth month of monitoring Japanese affiliate sites and this market continues to be one of the most volatile, with brands constantly jumping in and out of the top five, especially for the casino vertical.
Expanding our analysis further, we also introduced the Estonian and Turkish markets into our datasets for the first time in December.
