Amaya announces supplier deal with Golden Nugget
Casino's Bally partnership unaffected as Canadian software supplier agrees deal to provide poker platform and additional casino games

Amaya Gaming has announced it will provide Golden Nugget with an online poker platform and additional casino games, ahead of the launch of egaming in New Jersey on 26 November.
Golden Nugget has already teamed up with Bally Technologies to supply the platform and casino games for goldennuggetpoker.com and goldennuggetcasino.com. The addition of Amaya will not affect Bally’s partnership with the New Jersey-based operator.
Bally will provide the main egaming platform, and will manage elements such as player accounts and wallets. From this platform Golden Nugget will plug remote gaming servers from content providers, Amaya’s poker software, and payment provider systems.
Amaya, which has just sold off its B2C business WagerLogic, will provide the poker platform through Ongame, as well as a number of additional casino games. Amaya’s remote gaming servers for casino games and its poker platform are integrated into Bally’s platform.
Thomas Winter, vice president of gaming at Landry’s, who operates the Golden Nugget, told eGaming Review it partnered with Amaya because Bally doesn’t offer a poker platform, and to ensure they were offering as many casino games as possible to players.
“We intend to be a preferred early stage operator of real money online gaming as regulation progresses in the United States, initially in New Jersey and Nevada. To thrive in this market, we need to deliver a best-in-class online and mobile player experience,” said Winter.
“Amaya provides proven online casino games and a poker platform that deliver precisely what we need. Through this partnership we can supply exceptional and secure online entertainment, supported by the strong brand of our land-based casinos.”
Under the terms of the paternership, Amaya would receive a share of the revenue generated from the brands, subject to necessary regulatory requirements.
“We’re extremely pleased to be the selected partner for Golden Nugget’s venture into the emerging online gaming market in the United States,” said David Baazov, CEO of Amaya Gaming Group.
“This deal expands our existing partnership with Golden Nugget through the addition of our casino product to their poker offering, a result of both the quality of our offering and our strategic partnerships with both Bally and SHFL,” he added.
The Golden Nugget was the second operator to be awarded an internet gaming permit be the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement last week. Online gambling will go live in the Garden State following a five-day trial period on 21 November.
