Apple Sports unveils product enhancements ahead of NFL opener
Users can receive lock screen updates of all NFL and college football happenings on the free-to-use live scores app that includes DraftKings betting data

Apple Sports has revamped its NFL offering ahead of the start of the new season as the live scores app looks to attract new users.
The app was unveiled in February as Apple entered the crowded live scores market, featuring betting data from DraftKings including team odds, spreads and over/under points.
As part of the new product developments, users will be able to keep tabs on every on-field development via improvements made to play-to-play, which now offers quicker access to scoring drives presented alongside the view of game plays.
Users are now also able to see where the ball is at any time during the game thanks to a new “dynamic drive tracker”.
For college football, fans can now also keep up with top 25 teams, updated weekly, in addition to any of their favourite teams and conferences.
As with every other league covered by Apple Sports, every NFL fixture and college football meet will feature real-time scores, stats and live betting odds.
In addition, users with iOS 18 and watchOS 11 will be able to engage with live activities for all teams and leagues will for the first time.

This means that live scores and play-by-play updates can appear on the lock screens of an iPhone or Apple Watch via a quick glance.
More enhancements have been confirmed for later this year, with Apple Sports expected to launch a drop-down navigation for main scorecard views, allowing users to switch between leagues and teams even quicker.
Apple Scores will also be adding the UEFA Champions League and Europe League to its offering when the competitions start this month.
While DraftKings provides the betting data to Apple Scores, with the functionality able to be toggled off by users, no direct betting can take place through the platform, nor will they be able to be redirected to any sportsbook to wager.
The app can be downloaded by those based in the UK, US and Canada, but also includes French and Spanish language support.
