Evoke UK and Ireland managing director departs
Alexis Zamboglou to start “fresh and very different challenge” in October as he calls time on evoke spell after rising through the ranks at William Hill since January 2020

Evoke UK and Ireland managing director, Alexis Zamboglou, has departed the William Hill and 888 parent company after four-and-a-half years.
Zamboglou leaves the business having served as UK and Ireland managing director for 888 and William Hill brands since July 2023.
In that role, Zamboglou’s helped guide the firm’s biggest commercial division, spearheading a team of 240 that was based across multiple sites in London, Leeds, Gibraltar, Manila and Israel.
Prior to his promotion to oversee both William Hill and 888 brands, he spent just shy of three-and-a-half years working for William Hill, having joined the business prior to 888’s £2bn acquisition of William Hill International in July 2022.
Zamboglou originally joined Hills in January 2020 as UK strategy director and was promoted to marketing director 16 months later in May 2021.
In January 2022, Zamboglou was named UK marketing director and managing director for Ireland, adding the 888 brands to his remit following the completion of the acquisition.
Prior to joining Hills, Zamboglou spent time as Entain’s marketing director between April 2018 and October 2019, having previously played a role in meshing the Ladbrokes and Coral brands following their merger in 2016.
Taking to LinkedIn to announce his evoke exit, Zamboglou wrote: “Over the summer I have been saying goodbye to some of the most talented teams I have had the pleasure to work alongside in my career, as I have made the decision to leave evoke.
“Since we came together as a new UK&I leadership team in Q2 2023, we have driven the UK&I online business back into revenue growth with the trend certain to continue in the long term.
“These fantastic results are a product of the great work from our leaders and their amazingly clever and hard-working teams in Gibraltar, Leeds, London and Manila.
“They are not only some of the most intelligent people in the industry but also a superb group of human beings to be around every day.”
The exec added that he would be taking on a “fresh and very different challenge in October”, noting he was “looking forward to getting stuck into and building a positive and winning culture from the bottom up”.
Zamboglou leaves evoke after a busy few months for the operator, which rebranded from 888 Holdings in mid-May.
Last week, the group posted what CEO Per Widerström described as “disappointing” H1 results, that included a 2% decline in revenue and 26% fall in adjusted EBITDA.
However, speaking to EGR, Widerström explained that he was confident for the second half of 2024 as he outlined key changes made within the business, including a marketing refresh, a new bet builder product and a revamped retail estate.
