Stake on the hunt for Italy country manager following Idealbet acquisition
Crypto-first operator looking for experienced exec to lead in European market, with search for a Brazil country manager also having been kicked off

Stake is following up its acquisition of Idealbet with the search for a new Italy country manager as it continues its regulated push.
Last week, the crypto-centric giant acquired Idealbet parent company Baldo Line from the Octavian Group for an undisclosed fee to follow up its move for Betfair Colombia last year.
A job listing on LinkedIn from Easygo, the firm behind Stake and streaming platform Kick, revealed that it was looking for a candidate, with at least seven years of senior management experience in the market, to lead on Italian operations.
The new country manager will be based in either Malta or Italy and will be expected to “not only lead operations but also represent interests across various platforms and jurisdictions”.
Stake confirmed that Idealbet will continue to operate under its own brand within the Stake portfolio following the acquisition.
However, the job listing notes the successful candidates will be required to “lead the integration and management of the newly acquired entity, aligning with Easygo’s culture, values and strategic goals”.
Alongside the hunt for a new Italian head, Easygo is also on the search for a Brazil country manager, indicating Stake’s intention to head into the regulated market once it is live.
Stake moved into regulated Latam last year after snapping up Betfair Colombia from Flutter Entertainment.
At the time, the business confirmed it had market-access agreements in place in Mexico and Paraguay, as well as having applied for a Peruvian licence.
The firm also noted it was exploring the possibility of moving into the regulated Brazilian market, and with the search for a country manager having been kicked off, those plans could well materialise.
The new Brazil country manager should have at least three years of experience in online gambling, as well as leadership and market-specific experience, according to the advert. The new hire would also be based in São Paulo.
It continued: “We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a country manager for our operations in Brazil.
“The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and growing our presence in the Brazilian market, overseeing operations in the country and reporting directly to the company’s chief strategy officer .”
With a regulated push now at the forefront of the group’s agenda, Stake also hired Kris Abbott as Canada country manager earlier this year with a core focus of heading into regulated Ontario.
