Kindred Group director of sportsbook to depart
Andreas Reimblad calls time on lengthy spell with operator ahead of full rollout of the Kindred Sportsbook Platform

Kindred Group’s director of sportsbook, Andreas Reimblad, is set to the depart the Unibet parent company after more than 16 years of service.
Reimblad, who was named director of sportsbook in February 2021, has played a pivotal role in the development of the Kindred Sportsbook Platform (KSP) – the operator’s in-house product unveiled in February 2022.
The KSP will eventually replace Kambi as Kindred’s sports betting tech supplier, with the product already having gone live in some small test markets ahead of this summer’s Euro 2024.
Reimblad has today, 3 June, been replaced in the interim by Kindred head of trading, Ben Colley.
The outgoing director, who had a spell in Kindred’s bingo division between 2009 and 2012, rejoined the Stockholm-listed firm after a brief stint with IGT.
Returning to the business as a development manager in the sportsbook arm, he was named head of sportsbook product development in June 2014.
Another promotion to head of sportsbook product management and operations followed in August 2019 before stepping up to director of sportsbook.
Taking to LinkedIn to confirm his move yesterday, 2 June, Reimblad heaped praise on his fellow Kindred employees, including chief product officer Erik Backlund.
He said: “I’m immensely proud to have been part of, and led, such an amazing team, especially over the last couple of years.
“Firstly, we managed to do what a lot of people experts didn’t believe we could, to develop a proprietary sportsbook platform. At the same time, we grew the sportsbook team to over 100 talented individuals worldwide.
“While I won’t see the full rollout, it was a proud moment when KSP was launched in production earlier this year. To everyone working tirelessly to support the strategic direction and overcome challenges, I am amazed by your dedication and know this will become a major success.”
On the future of the KSP, Reimblad continued: “I’m also extremely happy that Ben Colley will step in as interim director of sportsbook at Kindred effective today, a transition we have been working on for weeks.
“I know that KSP and the sportsbook team are in the best possible hands and Ben’s knowledge and drive will get KSP to where it has to be.”
Earlier this year, Reimblad and Colley sat down with EGR to lift the lid on building the KSP and why the platform will give the operator an edge in the sports betting market.
