Betsson-owned operator expands into gaming vertical via partnership with Group Partouche

BetFIRST has launched its online casino in Belgium following Betsson’s acquisition of the firm last year.
Stockholm-listed Betsson snapped up Belgian operator betFIRST in a €120m deal in June and at the same time said an online casino product would launch in partnership with Group Partouche.
Betsson confirmed at the time of purchase that the first online casino launch would be in Belgium, subject to acquiring the relevant licences.
With the casino licence now granted to Casino Middelkerke, a subsidiary of Groupe Partouche, Betfirstcasino.be will offer slots, table games and live casino.
Alexis Murphy, betFIRST CEO, said the new brand will be the most “extensive” mobile casino offering in the country.
He said: “BetFIRST already boasts the best performing and fastest sports betting app in the Belgian market, and we aim to replicate this success with the most extensive mobile casino offering in Belgium.”
Jesper Svenssen, Betsson CEO, added, “We acquired a market leader in Belgium last summer, and we are delighted that we are already able to add further value for the business through this unique partnership.”
Fabrice Paire, Partouche CEO, commented on the Belgium launch and noted a land-based casino will also open as part of the deal.
He said: “It is only right that we partner with the leading Belgian betting and gaming operator to make a success of this new venture in both the physical and online world.”
