Superbet secures former Flutter exec as head of commercial for Brazil
Romanian operator gearing up for concerted push in soon-to-be regulated market with latest senior hire

Superbet has named former Flutter Entertainment exec Josh Hayes as the group’s new head of commercial for Brazil.
Hayes joins the Romanian operator from the FTSE 100 company where he most recently served as senior commercial manager for the group’s Betfair International subsidiary.
Hayes first cut his teeth in the industry with Paddy Power in 2016 before a series of promotions at the bookmaker saw him named international commercial manager in March 2019.
Then, in November 2020, Hayes stepped up to Flutter to become the parent company’s senior commercial manager for Brazil.
During his time with the business, Hayes added senior commercial responsibilities in Spain, rest of the world and Italy at various stages to his core Brazil remit.
Hayes will be based at Superbet’s London office as part of his new role.
Taking to LinkedIn, Hayes said: “Flutter really was and is a special place to work, I know of very few other companies that allow their people such opportunities to grow and develop.
“A company is nothing without its people and ultimately it was those people who kept me there for so long.
“To all my previous managers, colleagues and unofficial mentors, past and present, thank you for everything and for helping shape my career and the business person I have become to date.”
On joining Superbet, Hayes added: “As a new brand in Brazil, there will be a different set of challenges at Superbet but I’m looking forward to helping drive the business and brand forward.
“I’m extremely excited to start this new position at Superbet during such an important period of the company’s growth phase.
“Those who know me will know Brazil holds a special place in my heart since I began working on the region back in 2018. I’m delighted to be able to continue working on this rewarding and interesting market.”
Superbet is set to make a push in the Latam market ahead of regulation having appointed former Betano head Alex Fonseca as Brazil CEO last year.
The operator is looking to expand out of its traditional Central and Eastern European heartlands, having headed to Belgium in 2021 after acquiring Napoleon Sports & Casino.
Late last year, EGR revealed that Superbet CEO Johnny Hartnett is to leave the business this month and will be replaced by deputy chair Jimmy Maymann.
