Yggdrasil taps new Polish MD amid “strategic restructuring” at firm
Former Evolution head Alex Haywood links up with supplier as chief gaming officer transitions to chief product role

Yggdrasil has named former Evolution exec Alex Haywood as its new Polish managing director.
Haywood joins the supplier from Liquid Barcodes where he has served as chief technology officer since May 2022.
He moved to Liquid Barcodes from Interactive Gaming Group, where he also served as chief technology officer during a nine-month stint.
Haywood previously spent three-and-a-half years with Evolution between 2015 and 2018, initially joining the company as head of infrastructure engineering.
He was then appointed as head of IT business operations in January 2017.
Along with the addition of Haywood, Yggdrasil has implemented a “strategic restructuring” which has seen a “necessary reduction of roles within the organisation”, according to the company.
Additionally, current chief gaming officer Mark McGinley has been transitioned into the role of chief product officer.
The restructuring comes following the appointment of former OPAP head James Curwen as CEO.
Speaking on Haywood’s appointment, Curwen said: “I am thrilled to welcome Alex Haywood to the Yggdrasil team.
“His impressive track record, from his key roles at Evolution Gaming and Interactive Gaming Group to his most recent position at Liquid Barcodes, highlights his profound understanding of the gaming landscape and his unmatched ability to drive innovation and change.
“With his appointment, we are poised to reach even greater heights in innovation and technological prowess,” the CEO added.
