Ex-FEG exec heads to Romania as Winner CEO
Nicklas Zajdel to return to industry C-suite role after departing Fortuna in May 2022

Romanian operator Winner has named former Fortuna Entertainment Group and Ladbrokes Coral chief Nicklas Zajdel as its new CEO.
In what will be seen as a coup for the local firm, Zajdel returns to the industry frontline after leaving Fortuna in May 2022.
Zajdel served as the firm’s chief operating officer since October 2019 after he joined from Intralot following a seven-month stint as chief digital officer.
Upon leaving Fortuna, he moved to broadcast gamification company Sport Buff as a partner in January 2023.
Zajdel’s industry CV also boasts a five-year spell with Ladbrokes Coral, originally joining the firm as director of commercial operations before eventually becoming omnichannel director.
He spent more than three years with London-listed giant Playtech after cutting his teeth in the industry with Partygaming back in 2007.
Zajdel will replace former interim group CEO Lewis Findlay, also formerly of Ladbrokes, after he left the business in May.
According to data from web analytics firm Similarweb, Winner ranked in the top five sports betting sites in Romania behind Superbet, Mozzartbet, Unibet and Betano.
