EGR Affiliates Report 2023
This year marks the eighth iteration of the official Power Affiliates rankings. Powerhouses such as Better Collective and Catena Media have continued to loom large in the rankings since its inception, leaving little room for startups, striving to meet regulatory requirements, to break in.
In 2019, four new entrants managed to earn a place, however, this was short-lived for three of the affiliates, with only KaFe Rocks (now rebranded to Time2play Media) remaining on the list as an individual ranking. The others either didn’t fit the bill or were swallowed up in M&A action, which has continued to be a key strategy of the sector.
In the last few years, we’ve seen new firms enter and maintain spots on the rankings despite a backdrop of a worldwide pandemic, threat of a financial crash in the UK and a cost-of-living crisis in Europe too. Oh, and not to mention the UK igaming industry waiting with bated breath for the white paper into the Gambling Act 2005 review to be published.
Affiliates were able to breathe a sigh of relief when publication finally came in April 2023. With what appears to be little change for those working in the marketing field, businesses can continue to focus on innovation, securing top talent and, of course, M&A.
This year’s report reflects on all the above as well as the strategic partnerships reeling in results, how players’ behaviours continue to shift and what new markets are proving fruitful.
Contributors include many of the top 10 affiliates ranked in the 2023 Power Affiliates as well as new and exciting companies on the rise.
We have also published a précis of the latest Power Affiliates as a gentle reminder of who is to beat in 2024.
Keep an eye out for word on when the next iteration is being curated…
