Allwyn UK names new data director for National Lottery transition period
Martin Novák to lend knowledge and experience as operator prepares to take over National Lottery licence in Q1 2024

Allwyn UK has strengthened its hand ahead of taking on the fourth National Lottery licence with the appointment Martin Novák as the group’s data director.
Novák had spent the past 10 months as the operator’s head of business intelligence after transitioning from the Allwyn parent company in November 2022.
A company stalwart, Novák joined Allwyn (then Sazka) in May 2015 as a senior CRM specialist before being named head of business intelligence in April 2017.
In his new role as data director, Novák will be responsible for leading the group’s business intelligence, data warehousing and data management strategies during the transition period.
In July, the group named former William Hill head Alan Artz as its chief financial officer and EMI boss Andria Vidler as CEO.
Vidler will officially join Allwyn UK from 1 October, with current interim UK CEO Robert Chvátal returning to focus on his role as group CEO.
Allwyn UK will take over the UK National Lottery licence next year, marking the first time another firm will be responsible for the vertical since its inception.
To aid with its transition, Allwyn acquired current licence holder Camelot for around £100m last year.
