LeoVegas moves for ex-Catena Media head as Italy and RoW director
Dario Poiese links up with MGM Resorts-owned firm after five years with affiliate giant

LeoVegas has named former Catena Media exec Dario Poiese as its new director of Italy and the rest of the world.
Poiese joins the online-only operator after five years with Catena Media across a series of senior roles.
The Italian originally joined the affiliate in June 2018 after the Stockholm-listed firm acquired ASAP ITALIA, where Poiese had spent seven years.
He originally served as head of product for the ASAP brand before being named Italian country manager in October 2019.
Three quick promotions in succession saw Poiese appointed head of Southern Europe (April 2020), head of international, central south (April 2021) and sports general manager for EMEA (January 2022).
His final role with Catena saw Poiese named general manager for business development and optimisation in December 2022.
Last month, Poise took to LinkedIn to reflect on his time with the firm.
He said: “I would like to thank those who raised me, those who welcomed me, those who listened to me, those who stood up to me, those who challenged me, those who made me better, those who made me realise that I still have a long way to go, those who were always there and those who were just passing through.”
Chris Welch, LeoVegas chief commercial officer, said: “[I’m] delighted to welcome Dario Poiese to the LeoVegas pride as director of Italy and the rest of the world where he will be responsible for driving success in some of our most exciting markets and regions including Canada/Ontario, New Zealand, Latam and of course his home country Italy.
“LeoVegas, part of the giant MGM Resorts International, has big plans for the future and Dario’s wealth of igaming experience will cement our already impressive results in these markets. Looking forward to great things, Dario,” he added.
