Allwyn UK adds ex-William Hill head as CFO
Incoming National Lottery licence holder secures Alan Artz to bolster C-suite

Allwyn UK has appointed former William Hill chief Alan Artz as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Artz joins the firm as it gears up to take on the fourth National Lottery licence from February 2024.
Prior to this role, Artz spent more than three years with Hills between October 2019 and June 2023.
He originally joined the operator as CFO of digital before stepping up to become CFO of UK and international markets in July 2020.
Artz also served as a non-executive director at SIS between July 2021 and July 2023.
He previously spent time in senior finance roles at BT, Sky and Virgin Media before moving into the gambling industry.
Artz becomes the second addition to Allwyn UK’s C-suite this year following the appointment of former EMI boss Andria Vidler as CEO.
Vidler will join Allwyn UK from 1 October, with current interim UK CEO Robert Chvátal returning to focus on his role as group CEO.
Allwyn is set to take over the licence to operate the UK National Lottery from February 2024 after it bested Camelot in a tender race to wrest the incumbent from its position.
It will be the first time since the National Lottery’s inception in 1994 that Camelot will not hold the licence.
Allwyn has since acquired both Camelot and Camelot Lottery Services to help its transition to becoming the licence holder.
