William Hill crowned Operator of Year 2014
Operator scoops four awards including the headline prize as Sky Bet and PokerStars also win big

William Hill scooped the Operator of the Year gong at last night’s eGaming Review Operator Awards capping off a stellar night where they took home four awards including the headline Casino Operator of the Year award.
The judges were impressed by William Hill’s strong performance across both sports betting and gaming and praised the firm’s progress on mobile where it consistently impressed both in terms of technology and revenues.
William Hill was closely matched on the night by Sky Betting & Gaming, which won three awards in no small part due to its strong showing on mobile taking home the Mobile Operator, Mobile Sportsbook Product and Affiliate Programme trophies.
Other big winners included PokerStars which took home the Poker Operator of the Year and Mobile Poker Product awards, and bet365 which maintained its stranglehold on the In-play Sports Betting and Sports Betting Operators awards.
But it was William Hill, named Operator of the Year back in 2011, which had the most success during a night when almost 700 of egaming’s finest descended on the Camden Roundhouse for the 10th annual ceremony.
Aside from the coveted Operator of the Year award – won last year by 888 – William Hill also claimed the Marketing Campaign of the Year for its multi-channel World Cup effort, and Casino Operator of the Year due to its impressive growth of its in-house Vegas product and a strong performance on the mobile channels.
Colossus Bets made it a year to remember, walking away with the Rising Star award a little more than a year after first launching, while LeoVegas proved it continued to make progress by scooping the Mobile Casino Product award.
Elsewhere Oddschecker dominated of affiliate awards winning Sports Betting Affiliate while also claiming the overall prize for Affialite of the Year, and social gaming giant Playtika was recognised as both Social Casino and Social Operator of the Year.
Paddy Power’s outgoing CEO Patrick Kennedy, who leaves the firm in 2015 after a decade in charge, was recognised for his impressive career with eGR‘s Outstanding Contribution award.
