William Hill head of media exits amid ongoing 888 troubles
Matt Holmes departs after a decade in the role as exits mount at the newly acquired firm

William Hill head of media for UK & Ireland Matt Holmes has departed the 888-owned firm after just over a decade.
He has yet to confirm his next career move but took to LinkedIn to thank his former colleagues.
Holmes said: “So after almost 11 years, my journey with William Hill has come to an end. I’d like to thank everyone I’ve worked with, internally and externally (past and present), for making it the experience it was.”
Holmes becomes the latest Hills veteran to depart the company following 888’s £1.95bn acquisition of William Hill International.
Earlier this month, the operator’s long-standing head of external communications, Tony Kenny, confirmed his exit after more than 16 years with the bookmaker.
Holmes’ departure comes as 888 revealed that CEO Itai Pazner has departed the FTSE 250 operator with immediate effect, with the group’s non-executive chairman, Lord Mendelsohn, assuming the role of executive chairman on an interim basis.
Pazner’s exit saw CFO Yariv Dafna U-turn on his original decision to leave by the end of March, with the finance chief to stay with the firm until the end of the year.
Chief transformation officer Naama Kushnir also announced her departure from the firm after more than 15 years with the online giant in December.
It was revealed that 888 had begun a series of redundancies across its Israeli office as part of cost-cutting measures following the acquisition of William Hill International.
EGR understands these redundancies came from a need to avoid duplication of roles as the integration of Hills continues.
888 also confirmed that it had suspended its VIP activities in the Middle East pending an internal investigation into its compliance practices in the area.
These announcements saw the firm’s share price drop 27% yesterday. At the time of writing, 888’s shares are down by almost 4% to 72p.
