Esports Entertainment Group adds ex-Caesars EVP to board
Jan Jones Blackhurst’s appointment will see the size of the board at EEG grow to seven members

Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has announced that they have appointed Caesars Entertainment Group director Jan Jones Blackhurst onto its board.
Blackhurst has served on the board of Caesars since 2019 after serving as the company’s EVP for government relations and corporate responsibility for 20 years.
She is also serving as chief executive in residence at the UNLV International Gaming Institute, a post Blackhurst has held since 2019, and she’s been executive director of the UNLV black fire leadership initiative since 2021.
Prior to her involvement with Caesars, Blackhurst served two full terms as the mayor of Las Vegas from 1991 to 1999.
Blackhurst is also on the board of directors for the Las Vegas division of the US Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the American Gaming Association’s Gaming Hall of Fame.
This move comes not long after EEG posted a serious downturn in its cash flow and EBITDA in its latest financial results.
The firm has also had a slew of appointments so far this year as it shifted board member Damian Mathews to CFO and promoted Stuart Tilly from chief legal officer to COO.
Speaking on Blackhurst’s appointment to the board, EEG CEO Grant Johnson said: “We are delighted to welcome Jan Jones Blackhurst, a highly distinguished leader, to our board of directors.
“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience which will be of great value to our company as we expand our igaming and esports operations and establish ourselves as the leading provider of technology solutions to the fast-growing, exciting world of real money esports wagering.”
