Trustly lands West Ham United partnership
Swedish payment solutions firm signs multi-year agreement with Champions League-chasing club

Payment solutions specialist Trustly has secured a multi-year partnership with Premier League club West Ham United.
Under the remit of the agreement, Trustly will become the official open banking partner for the East London side.
Trustly will be afforded an advertising presence across West Ham’s digital channels, as well as on the LED perimeter advertising hoarding at the club’s London stadium.
The Stockholm-based firm cited the continued growth and prevalence of open banking in the UK as a key reason behind inking the new partnership with the Premier League outfit.
Johan Nord, Trustly EMEA chief business officer, said: “Trustly is delighted to partner with West Ham United, the iconic London club in the Premier League. This partnership comes as the UK’s adoption of open banking experiences tremendous growth.
“We’re overjoyed to combine the worlds of football and payment solutions, and we look forward to working closely with West Ham throughout this multi-year partnership,” he added.
Nathan Thompson, West Ham commercial director, commented: “At West Ham United, innovation is key to everything we do and we are thrilled to partner with Trustly, an organisation that is redefining the speed, simplicity and security of payments through its own products.”
West Ham hold a front-of-shirt sponsorship with online operator Betway, which was extended for a further six years in May 2019.
